Action Range Planning Meeting held 3/15/2007

The first organized (maybe it was purposly disorganized 
) meeting was held on March 15th to discuss construction plans and needs with as many interested donating members that we could get together.
Items discussed:
- Likely going to go with Concrete walls for the downrange safety walls
- This will either be professionally poured walls or professionally constructed pre-stressed concrete (likely the poured solution)
- The cement walls wil be textured as is possible by the contractors to break up the acoustics and cause less sound reflection to our neighbors
- buttresses will be needed on the outside of these walls for wind load support
- Baffles will need to be constructed and hung from trusses every 15 - 20 feet to assist with the wind loading and to prevent any projectiles from the possibility of leaving our property
- A steel building will be constructed for the shooting area. This building will prevent any projectiles from leaving he shooting area and will provide security via our current ID badge system so that only certified users may enter this range
- the south end of the range will be a 16 foot tall earthen berm
- drainage will need to be installed before the berm is placed
- A committee will be formed to set the certification requirements and rules for use of the range. The Ikes board will have oversight to ensure that safety precautions are met
- lots of people who pledged money still need to pay
- The aggressive goal of completed constructin in May was set forth
- We will need as many volunteers as we can get
