We have been getting quite a few confused calls about the notice on the cover of the Winter 2009 Outdoor America. Please notice the highlighted section stating to disregard if you have renewed and been processed by national by December 17. You would have to have renewed prior to Thanksgiving at the Linn County Ikes for that to have happened.
If you have sent in your renewal, THANK YOU! If you haven’t, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR???
It’s that time of year again. The Indoor range is available during scheduled times.
Here is the schedule:
Groups Rentals of the range are arranged at other times.
The indoor range is for .22 to .45 pistols and .22lr rifles. Full Metal Jacket or Round Nosed Lead only. No Hollowpoints.
You might notice that our Sunday hours are different from the past. We are working out the best hours based on past attendance and availability of the Range Officers.
Did you forget to sign the form inside your 2009 membership renewal packet?
If so please print this one out, fill it out completely and send it in! You won’t be a “Member in good standing” without this form filled out.
We have recently added the 2009 membership application to the Membership Information section of our website. If you are a prospective member planning to attend our tour on Saturday please print this out, fill it out and bring it along. Pre-filling out this form will save us both time on Saturday morning!
Don’t forget to get your license plate info on the form. License plate info seems to be the most difficult to remember while out at Ikes.

The Cedar Rapids Friends of the NRA is conducting a Pre-Banquet fund raiser by raffling off a Rock River CAR-15 rifle.
Only $20 per square on the Raffle Board gets you a chance to win this rifle. Board has 100 squares, so you have a 1 in 100 chance of winning!
There are less than 30 squares left on the Board. As soon as the Board is sold out we will draw the winners name.
The Rifle and Raffle Board are at Cedar Valley Outfitters in Marion. So stop by and take a look at it and get your name on the Board.
– Saturday March 22nd 2008 is the date for the next Friends of the NRA Banquet and Auction. Location is the Longbranch Supper Club in Cedar Rapids. More info will be available in January. Stop by the Friends table at the January Cedar Rapids Gun Show at Hawkeye Downs for you Banquet tickets and possibly another gun raffle.

CMP M1 Rifle Match
Military Rifle Shoot, no class
On Saturday, Sept 29 we will hold a CMP Military Rifle Match on the Rifle Range.
You will need to register with Brenton Barnett @ 393-4505
Price is $25
Start Time 9:00 AM
About 50% of the people who pledged money for the action shooting range have paid up. Thank YOU! to everyone who has sent in their money.
Unfortunatly this leaves us about $6400 short of what we need for construction. We plan to continue on construction and assume that people will pay us the money they pledged before the bills come in.
If we run out of $$ before construction is complete we will halt construction until we do have the funds. We won’t be leaving any bills unpaid.
If you pledged funds for the Action Shooting Range project and haven’t yet paid up, please send in you funds.
If you have a friend that pledged and hasn’t paid yet a little bit of peer pressure wouldn’t hurt to help us get this thing finished before prime shooting season is here.
Thank you again for everyone that has donated money and time to this project. Be sure to continue checking out this section of our website for future updates and volunteer opportunities.
We once again have target frames for sale.
These frames match the specs in our Member’s Handbook. These frames will be available during our Saturday morning tour time. That is, 8:00 AM sharp every Saturday morning.
Prices are: $14 for a pistol frame and $18 for a rifle frame. (These costs just barely cover the construction materials)
